It’s just not something you find that often anymore,” reveals Amanda. “I wanted to bring back the art of pie making and keep it alive. It’s kind of an old-fashioned, dying art.”

From its humble beginning when Amanda set up a stand and sold her pies at a local festival, Southern Baked Pie Company has continued to exponentially grow, with the first store opening in Gainesville, Georgia in 2012, followed by the Alpharetta and Buckhead stores in 2016, and most recently in Vinings in 2019. No matter how large the company will grow, however, they will never sacrifice quality when it comes to making their pies, a testament to Amanda’s deep love and personal connection to cooking. “I grew up cooking in my grandmother’s and my mom’s kitchen and I was always around food,” she recalls of how she first became enamored with cooking. “I made homemade cobblers with my grandmother, and we would make them for all the holidays and for the after-church family lunch on Sunday, so I just fell in love with baking and cooking at a young age.”
